The Bresser Telescope Spica 130/1000 EQ3 Reflector telescope with Smartphone Adapter and Solar Filter is a fully featured 130mm/5-inch class Newtonian telescope on the stable EQ3 German Equatorial Mount. The telescope is a hybrid Catadioptric Newtonian design, with a built-in optical corrector, which boosts the equivalent focal length of this short-tubed telescope to 1000mm - making it a small scope that packs a punch. Usable magnification (under ideal conditions), will top out at around 250x magnification on brighter objects, such as the Moon and major planets, but we'd generally recommend keeping it in the 150-180x top limit, under average skies. Delivery TimeDelivery is usually around seven business days with this product which comes direct from the supplier.Well-specified beginner's telescope for night-time and solar observationCatadioptric mirror telescope with long equivalent focal lengthFull aperture solar filter and smartphone camera adapter includedAperture: 130mm / Focal length: 1000mmPractical Magnification: 50x-200xMounting: Equatorial EQ-3Included: Telescope with EQ mount and tripod, solar filter, smartphone camera adapter, eyepieces, Barlow lens, LED finder, astronomy software, manualPlease note - smatphone not included
The telescope takes standard 1.25" eyepieces and accessories and is supplied with a 4mm and 20mm focal length eyepiece, giving 250x and 50x magnification respectively. The telescope is also supplied with a 2x Barlow lens, which can be used in conjunction with the 20mm eyepiece to take it up to 150x magnification (this Barlow is not recommended for practical use with the 4mm eyepiece). The Barlow can also be combined with a 1.25" T-adapter to attach a DSLR or USB camera and take high power pictures and film of the Moon, Sun (using the filter) and the major planets. However, the Spica is also supplied with Bresser's Smartphone adapter, which fits around the telescope's eyepiece and allows you to attach a Smartphone in order to take pictures and movies of brighter targets - so you can ease your way into the world of astrophotography, using just your phone. A red dot LED reflex finder is also supplied, that once aligned to the telescope's optical axis, allows for accurate and easy pointing of the system. The telescope is supplied on the sturdy EQ3 mount - a German Equatorial design, which makes tracking objects a simple process. Just use the manual slow motion cables to turn the RA axis to keep up with a target's apparent motion through the sky and counteract the effect of the Earth's rotation. A simple electric drive system is also available as an upgrade for the mount, for added convenience. The aluminium tripod is braced with a handy accessory tray to keep eyepieces and accessories safety stowed when out observing.Features Telescope for night-time and solar observation Optical system: Catadioptric Newtonian Highest practical power: 250x Objective lens diameter: 130 mm Focal length: 1000 mm Aperture ratio: f/7.7 Mounting: Equatorial EQ-3 Eyepiece diameter: 31.7 mm (1.25") Included in the box Telescope Full Aperture Solar-filter Eyepieces: 4 mm, 20 mm LED Viewfinder 3x Barlow lens Smartphone camera adapter Aluminium tripod Accessory tray Software
Excellent starter telescope As a newbie to stargazing I found this particular scope straight forward to assemble and operate. The item was received well packaged and all parts accounted for. I was able to view wonderful views of the moon and stars unseen to the naked eye with minimal experience on the first day of ownership. (18/04/2021) Chris Atherton - Runcorn
Great bit of kit, perfect for a newby to space After a lot of research and questions I found this to be one of the best telescopes in my price range. The staff were great helping me to get the right options and the delivery was quick and safe. Everything in perfect condition when arrived. Very much looking forwqrd to a cloud free night (16/07/2020) Steve Eason-Harris - Lincolnshire
