Altair M48 to M42 (T2) Adapter

The Altair Astro M48 to T-Thread (M42) adapter adds 1mm to the optical-path and has a female M48x0.75mm thread on the rear telescope-side, which reduces to a male T2 (M42x0.75mm thread) on the camera side.

The adapter has more accurate thread cut than cheaper generic adapters, being machined to a high standard on a high speed computer controlled lathe.

It can therefore support a camera-load with reduced flex by comparison, which is important for imaging.

The M48 to T-Thread (M42) adapter is ideal for use with the Altair M48 spacer and extension tube system. An added advantage of using the M48 spacers with the T-Thread adapter is that they have a 2" OD barrel, which is compatible with the standard push-fit system in use on most telescopes today.

Another ideal use for the Altair M48 to T2 adapter is to attach any T2 accessory to the Planostar field flatteners as well as SkyWatcher flatteners from the Esprit and DS-Pro range that use the M48 thread,
