The Altair Starwave variable spacer and extension ring has been redesigned to minimise flex and enables you fine tune the exact distance you require between camera sensor and flattener or filter holders, etc.Useful in astronomy and microscopy for precisely adjusting the spacing between optics and camera sensors to get the best possible image.Spacing distance can be adjusted precisely between 13.85mm and 18mm, measured between the two surfaces shown in the product image. Once adjusted, it's then locked in position with the locking ring. Heavy-duty construction to control flex in the imaging train. Easy-Grip knurled ring for easier loosening / tightening. Male and female T2 M42x0.75 thread on each end comaptible with most camera accessories. The spacer can be "stacked" with other T2 fixed or variable spacers in the range to achieve the exact distance you require between camera and optics. Compatible with Nikon and Canon T rings

Finally managed to get correct backfocus Sturdy, well engineered bit of kit - just what I needed to get the correct backfocus on an SCT - and focal reducer - which is a pain of a job on a good day! Very handy I had a lot of problems trying to find extension tubes to give the me correct back focus. I used this the other day and it's fantastic. It's adjusted to the size I required (14.5mm) and it easily locked in place with the locking ring. (28/02/2021) Mark Smith - Roade, Northamptonshire
