Baader Hyperion 68° Wide Angle Modular Eyepieces offer world class performance and unique photo-visual features, at an unheard of price. Baader Planetarium has worked hard to give the Hyperions the world's finest optical coatings, superb mechanics, and their unique multifunctional design. Viewing through a Baader Hyperion is comfortable and relaxing, due to their forgiving eye-position, generous 20mm of eye-relief, extra large eyelens, and an optical design that is free of 'kidney-beaning' and blackouts. Consisting of 8 elements in 5 groups (5mm - 21mm), the Hyperion optical design delivers outstanding sharpness and colour correction over a 68° wide apparent field (65° for the 21mm). Low power wide angle eyepiece for general and deep sky views.High grade water-white glasses are used throughout, to deliver a crystal clear view with low scatter and excellent colour fidelity, free of the yellow or bluish colouration exhibited by many other eyepieces of lesser quality. Use of high-index glasses delivers low distortion and astigmatism, even on scopes as fast as f/4 making the Hyperion extremely versatile for all designs of telescope.Photographic designThe eyecup can be removed to reveal an M43 thread, simply thread on the Baader Hyperion M43 T adapter (sold separate - see related products) and a T ring for your camera and you can attach a DSLR camera for astrophotography through the Hyperion and your telescope.
Baader Planetarium has gone to great lengths to give the Hyperions the most advanced multicoatings ever used on amateur telescope eyepieces. The Hyperion Phantom Group multi-coatings and coating equipment are proprietary to Baader and have been specifically for the Baader Hyperions, and optimized for each of the glasses used. These coatings are applied with the latest thin-film German coating equipment and process controls. The results are coatings that truly rival the best in the world - including the famous Zeiss Abbe Orthoscopic. The difference is clearly visible - users report that the Hyperions clearly show fainter stars and darker sky with more contrast than the competitive clones. The Baader Hyperion mechanics have been engineered by Baader to incorporate careful opto-mechanical design and execution of internal baffling to eliminate stray light and ghost reflections. The eyelens reveals a pitch black interior without distracting and contrast-robbing glints of light from unbaffled lens or shiny metal surfaces.Photographic designThe eyecup can be removed to reveal an M43 thread, simply thread on the Baader Hyperion M43 T adapter (sold separate - see related products) and a T ring for your camera and you can attach a DSLR camera for astrophotography through the Hyperion and your telescope.Works in both 1.25" and 2" focusers. The 1.25" barrel is threaded for filters and kept short to work well in binoviewers and spotting scopes. Baader's housing incorporates a full-length 2" barrel and provides a specially designed tapered locking recess for added security.Soft folding rubber eyecups work for both normal and eyeglass users for added user comfort. Each Hyperion comes with protective lens caps and leatherette storage pouch. Please note: The 24mm Hyperion is fixed focal length and not able to make use of the Fine tuning Rings. excellent great eyepiece and fantastic delivery (09/12/2019) -
Solid This is a well made solid eyepiece compared to what I already owned as I'm fairly new to astronomy, the clarity is amazing and the larger optics and wide angle make all the difference, I will definitely purchase more of these sorry the review isn't more technical I try to avoid unnecessary techspeak (11/04/2017) James Maclean - Scotland
