Home Mounts & Tripods DSLR Camera Tracking Mounts Bresser Astrophoto Tracking Mount
The Bresser Astrophoto Tracking Mount fits any good quality photo tripod and is designed to be used with DSLR cameras or small telescopes for long exposure astrophotography, providing a tracking platform to counteract the Earth's rotation and create wonderful wide field shots of the skies. Delivery TimeDelivery is usually around five business days direct from the supplier. The tracking is carried out by a precise stepper motor, which can also be moved via the hand box with switchable low 2x or high 32x speed in forward and reverse, allowing the target area of sky to be adjusted very precisely. Low power consumption allows up to 50 hours of operation from a set of good D cell batteries. Just add a DSLR and TripodThe Bresser photo mount is designed for a camera with lens of max. 2.5 kg total weight to carry and track. Large aperture, wide-angle lenses are ideal, because the requirements for tracking accuracy accumulate with increasing focal length and exposure time. Thus, a shot with wide-angle lens can be exposed for up for several minutes and targets remain locked and stars appear round in the exposures. For example, with a 200mm telephoto lens the polar alignment of the photo mount must be exactly right. But thanks to the optical pole finder, this is easy to do. Suitable for use with all good heavy duty photographic tripods with a tilting head and standard 1/4 or 3/8 fittings.Simple setupAfter setting up the light and compact photo mount, simply set the approximate latitude to the scale and centre Polaris through the illuminated pole finder scope. Then mount the camera with the photo lens using the quick-release plate on the supplied ball head. With the ball head, the camera can be aligned and determined at any time on any section of the sky. As soon as the tracking motor is switched on, long exposures can be started immediately. This can be acheived in under 5 minutes easily... if you're tired of setting up large amounts of gear for astrophotography, you'll find the freedom that the Bresser Astrophoto Mount offers very appealing.FeaturesEquatorial Photo-MountAutomatic sidereal tracking counteracts the Earth's rotationPole finder scope with illumination unitBallhead with quick release saddle plateStepper motor with helical gear for accurate trackingLoad capacity of Photo-Mount: up to 2.5 kgWeight Photo-Mont with ballhead: 1.0 kgBattery life: up to 50 hoursIncludedAstroPhoto-Mount Tracking motor with HandboxBallhead with quick release saddle plate Pole finder scope with illumination unitBattery compartment 6 volts with case (D-batteries user supplied)Manual
Good But Flawed The BBC 'Sky At Night' gave this mount 5 stars, well they are experts and I am not. So from an amateur point of view this is my experience: The quality of build is ok not great, polar scope is plasticky. The manual is difficult for a beginner. But, align it properly and it does the job very well. (30/05/2024) -
