The Bresser 6" Reflector on the EXOS 1 offers the user a high-end observing experience without the pricetag. This classic short focal length Newtonian reflector has a more manageable OTA length than more traditional long-focal systems. Sitting on the firm Exos 1 equatorial mount with high quality steel tripod and accessory tray, this telescope boasts an illuminated 8x50mm Finderscope with reticule, a 26mm Super Plossl eyepiece and a compression-ring eyepiece holder with integral camera T-thread for simple DSLR astrophotography (with a camera-appropriate T-ring, available separately). This telescope is one of the finer instruments that we class as beginner or starter telescopes and as such has a higher retail price than equivalent-sized systems in this class. Its 6-inch aperture offers a significant step-up in terms of light gathering power, when compared to 4.5 and 5-inch Newtonians. We consider this a good value system that will potentially last a user longer than some others on offer, due to its build quality and adaptability.
