Home Telescopes Bresser Telescopes Bresser Dobsonian Telescopes Bresser Messier 6 Inch Planetary Dobsonian Telescope
The Bresser Messier 6'' Planetary Dobsonian is not only a great Astronomical telescope for the night sky it also includes a high-quality aperture Solar-filter for safe observation of sunspots, eclipses and planet transits. Easy to use, fast to setup with rewarding views thanks to the quality 6" aperture primary mirror. This product normally ships in 5-7 business daysThis instrument is extremely versatile and great quality despite its low price, it offers a variety of functions and quality, which you sometimes look for in vain in considerably more expensive telescopes. With an aperture diameter of 150 mm and a focal length of 1200 mm the high quality Bresser Newtonian optics, observations of the Moon, the planets and planetary nebulae are particualrly impressive. Craters and rilles of the moon, as well as the ever-changing shadows cast by the terminator line between light and dark side of the lunar surface, are exciting targets to explore. Saturn with its impressive ring, Jupiter with its bands of clouds and the movement of its easily visible moons, the crescent shape of Venus and the glowing red Mars are good examples of what this telescope can be used to observe with ease. Because of the long basic focal length you can easily achieve the high magnifications required for this purpose with this telescope. You do not need expensive special eyepieces for this. In short, this is a telescope primarily for detailed high power visual observation. Nevertheless, bright deep sky objects like the Orion Nebula or the galaxies Messier 81 and 82 etc. can be observed as well.Solar filter includedA full aperture CE approved solar filter is included with this telescope, the filter fits the main tube allowing views of the Sun through the eyepiece. With the standard equipment you can observe with minimal set up time - an optical 6x30 viewfinder and a 25 mm SPL eyepiece are included. For those who want to transport the device as compact as possible, the new 6'' Bresser Messier Planet Dobsonian makes it very easy - the rocker box can be disassembled in a few easy steps, because the parts are assembled with metal quick connectors. So a bulky rocker box quickly turns into a handy flat package.A telescope whose versatility, performance and user-friendliness set new standards in this price class.FEATURESTelescope for night and solar observationHigh quality BRESSER Newtonian opticsIdeal telescope for planets, moon, double stars and planetary nebulaeSun observation through the included sun filter possibleMirror diameter: 150 mmFocal length: 1200 mmAperture ratio: F/8Rack and Pinion 2 inch 50.8mm focuserMain mirror made of special glass with low thermal expansionEasy to move metal tube for balancingDemountable rocker box with accessory trayTube mounting on altitude wheels using tube clampsUse of the optics also possible on other mountsDifferent sized adjustment and counter screws on the mirror cellViewing height at zenith: approx. 115cm (suitable for children and teenagers)Tube weight: 8.3 kgBasic weight: 7.8 kgTotal weight: 16.1 kgDimensions ready to use telescope: 45 x 45 x 128 cmWhat's Included:Optical tubeDobsonian Telescope Mount (disassembled for self assembly)Full Aperture Solar FilterOptical 6x30 viewfinder25mm SuperPlössl eyepiece ( 31.7 mm / 1.25 inch')Extension tube 25mm for 2 inch focuserEyepiece adapter diameter 31.7 to 50.8 mmTube clampsAltitude wheels
Early days but pleased so far Looks great & was easy to set up: build the base, clamp the OTA and align the viewfinder scope. Not as portable as my old refractor, but hoping the larger aperture will lead to better views. Looked briefly at Mars and had reasonable views of Jupiter & its moons and Saturn with its rings.
