Home Accessories Barlow Lenses Barlows 1.25 Inch Carl Zeiss Abbe Barlow Lens
This new production run of the legendary Carl Zeiss Abbe-Barlow, in a new redesigned Baader housing has been released. The barlow lens itself is the same original Zeiss lens that was available in 1995. These exsquisite lenses have been mounted in an new housing, which incorporates Baader's own Clicklock eyepiece clamp for accurate centering of your eyepiece which attaches to the barlow housing via T-threads adding versatility.
The Baader Zeiss Abbe-Barlow is regarded to be the finest barlow ever produced, increasing the magnification without introducing any detectable loss in sharpness or contrast. Discriminating planetary observers will find this barlow ideal for using high magnifications without sacrificing any quality.Another benefit is the increased eye-relief that comes from using longer focal length eyepieces, enabling a more comfortable and relaxed view. This compact barlow remains parfocal at 2X, minimizing the disruption to focusing when adding the barlow into the optical chain. The non-marring Clicklock holder makes interchanging eyepieces simple, firmly clamping the eyepiece with a gentle twist of the top ring. The ID of the lens cell is fully sharp v-threaded to eliminate stray light. The top of the Clicklock holder is height-adjustable, and removable to expose an external T-thread. This enables use of the barlow as a superb projection barlow for imaging. These are only ever produced in limited runs, availability is often restricted between runs sometimes for years!Manufacturer ZeissWeight (kg) 0.1030Outer Connection (lens sided) Barrel, 1¼"Inner Connection (eyepiece sided) Clamp, 1¼"Outer Connection (eyepiece sided) Thread, T-2 (M42 x 0,75)Clamping System ClickLockMagnification (x) 2x Barrel Size (in) 1¼"Optical Design BarlowSpeciality Barlow lens
Excellent barlow The barlow is of very high quality, optically similar to the Baader VIP 2x. The Baader / Zeiss is parfocal (whereas the VIP is not!). This and the click-lock mechanism make this barlow particularly suitable for planetary observation at high magnification. Highly recommended. (21/07/2017) Piero - Cambridge, UK
