At just 2.25lbs and 7.5" tall this unit can attach to the tripod easily, extremely light and portable making it ideal for travelling with your telescope as well as convenient for backyard use without cables trailing .The LiFePO4 has an un-recharged shelf life of 10 years compared to 3 years for the Lithium Ion and 6-9 months for a Sealed Lead-Acid battery.

The battery performance of the PowerTank Lithium degrades at a much slower pace than other chemistries. The LiFePO4 can be charged and discharged 2000 times compared to only 500 for a Lithium Ion battery and 300 for sealed lead-acid designs making it a real long term solution for powering a telescope. The LiFePO4 uses phosphates instead of environmentally hazardous elements like cobalt or lead commonly found in other rechargeable batteries. Other significant advantages include an ability to withstand higher temperatures than lithium-ion designs and will not be a fire danger if accidentally punctured.

  Great little power tank  Only used with scope once but worked great. Also used it to power a usb device no problem. The strap just holds on my EQ5 tripod but doesnt hold it on a Nexstar 5SE tripod as its too long but i hung it through the 2 inch holes in the spreader.   Great powertank  This was recommended by Harrisons to use with my new Skywatcher EQ3 PRO SynScan Equatorial Mount & Tripod, and it’s a really nice piece of kit. The built-in lamp is really useful.   Does what it says on the tin!  An excellent battery pack which also has a built in torch to help when using your telescope outside at night. Quickly charged up & used this for several hours already with my NexStar 6SE. Only quibble -the supplied tripod leg strap is useless.   Solid battery  I have had this a couple of weeks now and tried it out on my Celestron 130SLT. It is a sturdy but fairly compact battery with easy to access controls. The actual push buttons are under a cover to protect them from moisture whilst there is a power socket on the outside. It has stood up to the cold.   (22/02/2019) SRN - Derbyshire

  More than just a telescope accessory  Great service from Harrison Telescopes, with quick response to email question and next day delivery. Definitely an improvement over the 'car battery' type.   Just great. Seems fine  I have only tried it indoors todate, but it seems to be fine. Much better than my old "tank" Just need some clear nights before the light nights.
