Home Filters Light Pollution Filters Explore Scientific 2 Inch UHC Nebula Filter
More versatile than the OIII filter, the Explore Scientific 2" UHC Nebula Filter will work on a broader range of nebulous objects, due to its dual peaks in transmissions on both broader OIII lines and Hydrogen wavelengths, whilst still providing ample suppression of common light pollution and related skyglow.
Whereas OIII filters really begin to work at their best in reflecting telescopes of 150mm aperture and refractors of 75-90mm, UHC filters will work well in smaller systems, as well as their larger contemporaries. Structure in commonly visible objects is enhanced by using the UHC and some objects will become discernable that were previously very difficult or even invisible.Explore Scientific take pride in the individual serial numbering and testing of all their filters. When buying an Explore Scientific 2" UHC Nebula Filter, you will receive a unique test report, giving a wavelength graph of your individual filter. All Explore Scientific filters, including this one, come in an attractive presentation box and airtight plastic container to keep dust and other foreign objects away from the filter's surface when in storage and protect the filter from scratches during transportation.
Useful filter at a good price. I use this filter for imaging using my ZWO OSC. It is permanently on my imaging rig as it brings out detail in emission nebula but also works on LRGB targets, increasing the contrast without affecting the star colours. It also speeds up plate solving drastically. (08/11/2019) MV - West Sussex
