Sky-Watcher's EvoGuide 50ED is the ultimate new high quality 50mm doublet ED Guidescope, finder or ultra portable telescope, utilising world class Ohara S-FPL53 glass for the ED element. Corrections are amazing with the use of ED glass, colours are true and contrast is superb. With a focal length of 242mm it has a very fast focal ratio of just f/4.8. The Evoguide is equipped with a fine and precise helical focuser enabling sharp focus to be easily acheived visually or on a camera sensor. It can also be used as a finderscope, or just as a small richfield premium telescope for travelling. Excellent dual purpose guidescope I'd read a lot about this scope and was eager to get hold of one. An actual ED glass equipped guidescope! Who could not want one. Nice accompaniment to ED80 and outright scope I intended to buy this as a guide scope for my ED80 however decided to purchase the field flattener that can be purchased separately as it can be used as a wide field imaging scope in its own right. Well constructed item along with very good service I ordered the Evoguide 50ED to replace a simple red dot finder. It proved a good move. The 'scope is well constructed and has multiple mounting options. Helical focussing is smooth and fine. Adjustment of the axis is simple with three fixings on each of two rings. Very good upgrade replacement finder/guide scope Frustrated by the difficulty of achieving good focus with the standard finder/guide scope supplied with an ED80DS-Pro I purchaed the EvoGuide. First impressions are very good with good control over focus and a clear improvement in guiding performance; used with a ZWO ASI120MM-S and PhD2. (16/02/2018) - Derby
