Large aperture and easy to use, the Skyliner 150p offers remarkable value for money and is very capable of showing excellent detail on the major Planets as well as having ample light grasp for deep sky objects. These instruments offer an incredible aperture-to-price ratio. The Dobsonian mount, popularized by John Dobson in the late 1970s, is a very simple but effective method of mounting a Newtonian Reflector, based on the alt-azimuth principle. Fast and easy to set up, the Dobsonian mount consists of a box-type mounting which allows the telescope to pivot in altitude, while the box itself is rotated on a base in azimuth. The secret of the design is to correctly balance the optical tube and to use frictional materials, which allow it to move easily when nudged but to stay in position when not. The mount is designed to be driven by hand as opposed to slow motion controls. Sky-Watcher Dobsonians feature a unique patented Tensioner/Carrying handle. By lifting the handles together, you can easily carry the whole unit in an upright position with the help of a friend. All Sky-Watcher Dobsonian models feature 0.5mm Ultra-Thin Secondary Mirror Supports to reduce diffraction spikes & light loss, and high quality Paraboloidal primary mirrors to eliminate spherical aberration. Great Scope This is my first telescope, it's a big bigger than I imagined but not that it's a problem. Super fast delivery. Easy to put together, easy to move about on my own and I think it looks great. Have used it a few times, me and my boy were very impressed, Saturn, Jupiter, Mars all great. We love it (20/11/2022) - North Yorksire
Great starter I've been with an astronomy club now since September time and I saw how great everyone's telescopes were. So, since then I've always been wanting a telescope however due to money I couldn't afford it. As soon as I found this great telescope, I was able to see Saturn, Jupiter and the milky way (08/08/2022) -
Excellent First Scope Had my 150P for a couple of years now. It has to be the easiest to use and best view from a budget scope.Invest in a few extras like a Barlow or Plossl lenses and you will be happy. Saturn and it's wonderful rings, Jupiter and it's moons, and of course the Moon looks fantastic. (04/07/2017) Mike Dack - Westfield UK
